UT Southwestern Scholars Program in Organic Chemistry (SPOC)

Application Due Date:

January 29. 2010

Eligibility Requirements:

– Underrepresented Minority* or Disadvantaged* undergraduates who will have completed general chemistry in college by June 2010
– SAT score between 1500 and 1900 or ACT score between 20 and 27 (SAT or ACT scores outside this range may apply, but will be given a lower priority)
– Minimum GPA 3.0
– Must NOT have taken organic chemistry in college
– Participants responsible for locating their own housing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area during the summer of 2010 (housing not provided by UT Southwestern)

UT Southwestern Scholars Program in Organic Chemistry (SPOC)

Hello

This is a pilot summer program for minority or disadvantaged student that involves a course in organic chemistry and shadowing of physicians. The program is in Dallas, is 16 hours a week, and provides a stipend of $1000 but does not provide housing or food. Read the attached files for eligibility requirements and details about applying.

Attached are announcements about a brand new summer program for undergraduates who have not yet taken organic chemistry. The program will be held on the UT-Southwestern Medical School campus in Dallas, Texas, from June 1, 2010 to August 5, 2010.
